Love Haiti

2010-02-05

So far, we've raised $22,000 for Haiti.

What started out as a casual “what are we doing for Haiti?” conversation, quickly turned into a group from W+K AMS planning “LOVE HAITI”- a one-night only party for the creative community to do something about the plight of the Haitian earthquake victims.

Without hesitation Streetlab_Projectspace donated their venue, MoManager assembled the Dam’s best DJ’s, PigeonHorseSexTennis put on a live set, and Heineken and Tanqueray provided drinks.

The creative community did not disappoint on the night. Sid Lee, 180, Massive Music, the gals from Rika, and many more came out in masses and donated generously on the door. To top of the night, there was a silent auction where partygoers could bid on original artwork from Pierre Janneau, Toby Morris, Faile and Parra, services from Clint @ OhYouPrettyThings, gear from Nike SB, MTV memorabilia, or a pair of jeans from the new Gods of Denim. People were digging deep in their pockets on the night and special thanks goes to the major contributions made by Wieden+Kennedy

Amsterdam, Crabsalad, Cartelle, and Iris.

The $22,000 raised on the night (and counting) goes directly to Habitat For Humanity and the Haitian redevelopment project. With each $3,000 donated, HFH can build a weather-proof and sustainable 1-room house per Haitian family.
